I am writing to thank you for your perseverance and commitment to truth in your work, as seen in 'See Grace Fly.' I attended the screening at the Ridge [Vancouver], Sunday evening and want to share my interactions with it.I am a therapist, completing a thesis on the experience of not receiving support in Christian community following an experience of trauma. I have worked in the Social Services, where we continuously advocated for people depersonalized by that system… I was profoundly moved by the many layers of honest struggle with real issues. You gracefully danced a fine line in a way that did not dismiss any of the tough questions and did not provide pat answers…Without wanting to offend any of you, I want to share that my spontaneous unlike-me-yet-true response in the closing moments of the film was to find myself praying, saying to God, "Yes, you have spoken to all of us in this place, this night," not only through the voice of Howard, but through the whole film, the weaving together of all the people, issues and questions… We need to wrestle with the truth you have allowed to shine through your work.
